Why i created the charity & community promise

I want to build a mortgage business that I could genuinely be proud of — one that delivers great outcomes for my customers while also giving both me and the people I work with an opportunity to give something back. Like many people, I have always wanted to support local causes more, but finding the time to organise fundraising or regularly volunteer alongside running a business and family life is not always easy. That made me think differently about how I could make giving back part of the way I work every day.

The Charity & Community Promise allows me to do exactly that. As my business grows, the support going back into local charities, community organisations and grassroots sports clubs can grow with it. More importantly, it gives my customers the power to decide where that support goes, choosing a cause, club or organisation that means something personally to them.

I want to create something where part of the income generated through my work could make a genuine difference in the community. My ambition is for this to become a lasting part of what Your Mortgage Ghai stands for and, over time, create a meaningful legacy of supporting the communities that support my business.

HOW IT WORKS

Supporting Local Charities and Grass Root Sports

Your Mortgage, Your Choice, Your Community

When you arrange an eligible mortgage through Your Mortgage Ghai, I will donate 15% of the mortgage procuration fee I receive to a local charity, community organisation or grassroots sports club that matters to you.

The choice is completely yours. During the mortgage application process, all you need to do is tell me who you would like to support. Once your mortgage completes and I receive the procuration fee, I will arrange for the donation to be paid to your nominated organisation.

I want the process to be completely transparent, so you will be able to see that the money has been sent to the charity or club you selected. That means you are not simply being told that part of the mortgage proceeds will go to a good cause — you can see exactly where your support has gone.

For me, the most powerful part of the Promise is that you choose who benefits. It could be the junior football club your children play for, a local charity that has supported your family, a community group close to your heart, or an organisation doing great work in your area.

And the impact does not have to stop with one mortgage. If you believe in what your chosen organisation is doing, tell your family, friends, teammates, parents and other supporters about the Promise. If more people choose to arrange their mortgage through me and nominate the same organisation, those individual donations can start to add up to something genuinely meaningful.

You were arranging a mortgage anyway. Why not use it to support something that matters to you?

Are You a Charity, Community Group or Sports Club?

If you are a charity trustee, club chairman, committee member, coach, fundraiser or someone responsible for raising money for a community organisation, the Your Mortgage Ghai Charity & Community Promise could provide another valuable source of funding for your organisation.

Whenever an eligible mortgage completes through me and the customer nominates your organisation, I will donate 15% of the mortgage procuration fee I receive to you.

There is no complicated fundraising event to organise and no need to ask your supporters for another direct donation. Instead, you can simply make your members, supporters, parents, volunteers, employees and wider community aware that when they need mortgage advice, they can choose to support your organisation at the same time.

The real opportunity comes from getting the word out. One mortgage may generate one donation, but if your organisation actively shares the Promise with its community, those individual donations can build over time and create a meaningful additional source of funding.

How to refer someone

There are two simple ways to refer someone to me:

Your supporter can contact me directly by completing the contact form on my website and including the name of your charity, club or organisation so I know who they would like to support.

Alternatively, with the customer's permission, you can complete the contact form on their behalf, providing their contact details and the name of your organisation. I can then contact them directly to discuss their mortgage requirements and explain how the Charity & Community Promise works.

If you would like to understand the Promise in more detail, discuss how referrals work, or look at ways we could promote it to your supporters, get in touch with me for a chat.

You spread the word. I provide the mortgage advice. Together, we help generate funding for your organisation.
